Glass factory O-I, Antoninek

An American Fortune 500 company O-I (former Owens-Illinois), one of the biggest manufacturers of glass products in the world, decided to modernize its factory in Antoninek by Poznań.

The general contractor Eresco had only 45 days from planned day of furnace still-standing to construct the supporting basement for a new one in existing and constantly operating glass factory.

It’s like extending an existing building, but … downwards, where we need to cutoff steel columns supporting the roof and digging under foundations of production hall with almost 80 years history.

Thanks to constructing the project according to Clients time-schedule and expectations, our team was invited for cooperation on next modernization of the factory.

Bartels was responsible for concept plan, permit design, construction drawings with steel structure shop drawings.
